But still, I don&#039;t like portage. It&#039;s too user-friendly. I want to compile something by myself. Have some controll about my packages, but it&#039;s handy to compile great sources. Like Gnome or KDE.</description>

		<description>I used to use the FreeBSD port collection and compile my whole system from scratch as well. It was fun, but after a while (about 2 years) it got a bit irritating. I decided to go for pre-compiled packages instead, saves so much waiting, don&#039;t think I&#039;ll ever go back to compile-it-yourself. 

Especially if you like to be on the bleeding edge, it&#039;s a lot of time...</description>
